At least one Arab writer, a self-described "liberal" blames the Arabs themselves for their situation. He condemns the Arab media for one-sided rabble-rousing, posits Israel as a model of democracy, and says that the U.S. will succeed in Iraq as it succeeded in Japan and Germany.
